Kewtech release new Safe Isolation Kit – KEWISO2
To comply with regulation 14 of the Electricity at Work Regulations, dead working should be the normal method of carrying out work on electrical equipment or circuits. Live working should only be carried out in particular circumstances, where it is unreasonable to work dead. The new KEWISO2 kit, available from June 2014, provides a fool proof system of proving equipment or circuits dead.
The KEWISO2 kit includes the popular, UK specific, KT1780 two pole tester, a proving unit and a universal combination lock off device with rewritable warning labels.
These all come in a rugged case with a pouch to hold the proving unit, making it accessible at all times and the lock off device works with all toggle type MCBs and Main Switches saving on complicated lock off kits.
Six steps to safe isolation
Step 1 – Check it is safe to isolate with user.
Step 2 – Prove your voltage indicator using your proving unit.
Step 3 – Test the circuit you wish to isolate is powered off by checking line-neutral, line-earth and neutral-earth.
Step 4 – Re-test your voltage indicator using your proving unit.
Step 5 – Replace the cover on the circuit board and lock off.
Step 6 – Test again on the circuit being worked on.
The Kewtech KEWISO2 kit provides a great solution for safe isolation and includes:
· KT1780 Two Pole Tester – Clear voltage indication and has UK Specific slender probes.
· Kewprove3 proving unit - Held in a rugged case with a transparent window making it available for use at all times.
· Kewlok – Universal lock off, one device fits all toggle switch MCBs and Main Switches. Saves on multiple kits.
The KEWISO2 will be available to buy via all good wholesalers from June 2014.
